Seiji Okumiya was born in Kochi, Japan.
He worked at the Toppan Printing Studio in Tokyo,
continued his career at Hiroshi Yoda Studio in Tokyo
and established himself as a freelance photographer,
especially worked for advertising.
He subsequently moved to London in 1986.
With his passion and commitment, he has photographed people from all walks of life
and has visited zoos around the world for ‘Tsubasa no Okoku’ of ANA.
From March 2009, his photographs appear serially in ‘utadayori’ Fujin-koron
in collaboration with a poetess, Machi Tawara.
